Candle Care
Before Lighting Your Candle
- Remove the lid, packaging, wick cover, tags, matches, and all removable charms or decorative accessories.
- Anything that is not clearly made from candle wax must be removed before lighting. If you are unsure whether a decoration is safe to burn, do not light the candle—contact us first.
- Inspect the vessel before every burn. Never use a candle with cracked, chipped, or otherwise damaged glass.
- Trim the wick to approximately ¼ inch before every burn.
- Remove wick trimmings, matches, and other debris from the wax.
- Place the candle upright on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface in a well-ventilated room.
- Keep the candle at least 12 inches away from curtains, bedding, books, paper, decorations, and anything else that may catch fire.
- Avoid fans, vents, open windows, and other drafts.
How to Burn Your Candle
- On the first burn, allow the wax pool to approach the edges of the vessel. This will usually take approximately two to three hours and helps reduce tunneling.
- Never burn a candle for longer than four hours at a time.
- Always burn within sight. Never leave a burning candle unattended or fall asleep while it is lit.
- Keep burning candles away from children, pets, and high-traffic areas.
- Never touch or move a candle while it is burning or while the wax and vessel are hot.
- If the flame becomes unusually high, begins smoking, or flickers continuously, extinguish the candle. Allow it to cool completely, trim the wick, and check for drafts before relighting.
- Allow the candle to cool for at least two hours before relighting.
Extinguishing and Final Burn
- Use a candle snuffer or gently blow out the flame.
- Never use water to extinguish a candle. Water can cause hot wax to splatter or damage the vessel.
- Never use the bamboo lid to extinguish the flame.
- Confirm that the wick is completely extinguished before leaving the area.
- Allow the wax and vessel to cool completely before moving the candle or replacing its lid.
- Stop using the candle when approximately ½ inch of wax remains at the bottom.
- Never burn a candle all the way to the base of its vessel.
Wax Melt Care
How to Use Dreamwave Wax Melts
- Place a small amount of wax into a clean, dry electric warmer specifically designed for scented wax melts.
- Do not overfill the warmer dish.
- Turn on the warmer and follow all instructions provided by its manufacturer.
- The wax may be reheated until the fragrance becomes faint.
- Turn off and unplug the warmer, then allow the wax and dish to cool completely before removing or replacing the wax.
Wax melts release fragrance as they warm, but the wax itself does not evaporate. When you can no longer smell the fragrance, it is time to replace the cooled wax.
Wax Melt Safety
- Never add water, fragrance oil, perfume, or any other substance to melting wax.
- Never melt wax on a stove or in an oven or microwave.
- Do not expose wax melts directly to an open flame.
- Never leave a warmer operating unattended or while sleeping.
- Place the warmer on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface away from flammable materials.
- Keep hot wax and warmers away from children and pets.
- Do not touch or move the warmer while the wax is hot or liquid.
- Do not pour hot wax into a sink, toilet, or drain.
- Stop using any warmer with a damaged cord, plug, dish, or heating element.
- Always follow the warmer manufacturer’s directions, even if they are more restrictive than these instructions.
Fragrance Rollerball Care
Dreamwave fragrance rollerballs are wearable cosmetic fragrance products intended to make your skin smell beautiful. They are not essential oils, lip oils, flavoring, diffuser oils, or therapeutic treatments.
How to Use Your Rollerball
- Begin with clean, dry skin.
- Apply a light swipe to pulse points such as the wrists or inner elbows.
- Allow the fragrance to absorb before putting on clothing or jewelry.
- Reapply lightly as desired.
A small amount is usually enough. Fragrance develops differently with individual skin chemistry, temperature, and environment.
Rollerball Safety
- For external use only.
- Do not ingest.
- Do not apply to the eyes, lips, face, or other mucous membranes.
- Do not apply to broken, irritated, sunburned, or freshly shaved skin.
- Avoid direct contact with clothing and delicate fabric, as fragrance oils may stain.
- Review the ingredient list before use if you have known fragrance or cosmetic allergies.
- Patch-test on a small area before regular use, particularly if you have sensitive or allergy-prone skin.
- A patch test cannot guarantee that a future reaction will not occur.
- Discontinue use immediately if redness, itching, swelling, burning, or another unexpected reaction develops.
- Contact a healthcare professional if a reaction is severe, persistent, or concerning.
- Keep tightly capped and store upright when not in use.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
- Do not share the rollerball applicator with others.
- Do not use the product if its smell, color, texture, or appearance changes unexpectedly or if the container becomes damaged or contaminated.
Dreamwave fragrance rollerballs are intended for cosmetic fragrance use only. No Dreamwave product is intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent anxiety, insomnia, depression, pain, or any other medical condition.
Fragrance Sensitivity
Fragrance affects everyone differently. If a candle, wax melt, or rollerball causes headache, nausea, breathing discomfort, skin irritation, or another unexpected response, discontinue use immediately.
Extinguish the candle or turn off the warmer, ventilate the room, and move to fresh air if needed. Seek urgent medical attention for difficulty breathing, facial swelling, or another severe reaction.
Keeping Your Dreamwave Beautiful
- Store candles and wax melts in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and temperature extremes.
- Keep candle lids in place after the wax has cooled to protect the wax from dust and debris.
- Store rollerballs tightly capped, upright, and away from direct heat or sunlight.
- Do not leave Dreamwave products inside a hot vehicle.
- Minor frosting, color variation, or changes in wax appearance may occur in handmade soy-blend products. These variations do not necessarily affect performance.
- Pooling liquid, leaking fragrance, broken glass, visible contamination, or unusual changes in odor are not considered normal. Do not use the product—contact Dreamwave for assistance.
Because every Dreamwave product is individually made and decorated, slight differences in color, layering, embed placement, shimmer, and finish are part of its handmade character.
